Here’s something to ponder upon for those who identify with the frameworks of conspiracy poetics, conspiracy research and conspiracy belief (overlapping, but by no means totally identical). Certainly, at least some within the aforementioned circles give this quite a bit of thought all the time, others take it as a given: the Hegelian Dialectical method.
Per the simplified, exposition of the Hegelian dialectic, a certain phenomena/event/idea (thesis) will result in a reaction or opposition (antithesis). Eventually, the thesis and its antithesis, with their inherent contradictions, will find their “solution” within a synthesis, which consists of the truth or reality of the thesis and antithesis, minus their internal contradictions and conflicts— a new phenomena/event/idea that transcends them and becomes itself a new thesis: and so the process continues indefinitely…Or at least, as the idealist Hegel originally believed, the process will culminate with Being/God becoming totally aware of itself. For his materialist successors such as Marx and, under the covers, the so-called Neo-cons, the process results in the End of History. But in both the idealist and materialist versions of the Hegelian dialectical philosophy, the political “end” of all this looks the same: the Ideal State, which in some sense makes of the State a God, realized and aware of itself, having transcended all previous manifestations and constituents, including individual human beings. And therein begins the fear and the danger.
From the view of the conspiracy research-minded, the Hegelian Dialectic is seen not just as a framework for how the world of ideas and of material reality “naturally” work and progress. It is also seen as a strategic framework by which our societal engineers (the elites and their various think-tanks and front groups) deliberately make certain changes occur in our human world. They purposefully engineer the thesis (problem), the antithesis (opposition) and the synthesis (solution) in the direction of their ultimate goals (whether they realize what those goals are or simply think they do).
And here’s the thing. It’s probably nothing that hasn’t been thought of before, but it deserves emphasis. If the method of Hegelian Dialectic is used to create (false) oppositions—chaos—and to also control their outcomes—sythesized order—and if, as I don’t doubt, it’s not being done with our individual and community best interests at heart—then shouldn’t we also assume that the enterprise of conspiracy research and the activism that often results from it, is also subjected to the Hegelian methods of the elite?
How does one get around this? And do those doing conspiracy research and seeding the activism that comes from it (e.g. 9/11 truth) end up fighting each other via the dialectic? And in fighting those perceived to be our controllers, do we also enter into and partake of the dialectic process?
How do you find your way out of this dialectic?
Could it be through something that looks superficially equivalent, but is not: The Tao?
Can a Way Out of the Hegelian Dialectic Reality Tunnel even be spoken? If so, is it still a way out?
Discuss.
I think you are on to something. Ultimately one cannot hope to change the world with words, it takes action…. but not brute force take-up-arms kind of action. The best sort of leadership is through example. Getting trapped into the circular world of word games, spoken or written, is what happens when one plays with words whose meanings have been shaped by others, often those with the most sophisticated means of disseminating their message & a reason for doing so. Facing such an overwhelming technological superiority head-on, then, is conceptual suicide. Best to step around that conflict, as it is has been designed as a trap for opposing worldviews, like flypaper for opposing viewpoints. The best way to avoid playing into a dialectic that has been shaped by corporations & folks whose thoughts & intentions are not congruent to you own is to get your own sh*t together. Work on your yourself, your personal relationships. Your Community. Let the effects ripple outward. The only reason flawed arguements, like corrupt systems or individuals, stay aloft is because folks prop them up. Pay them no mind & they eventually collapse under the weight of their own hubris. Sometimes the best course action is nonaction; staying our hand in order to still the system. That’s no easy feat for a person raised in a society that admires ‘the man of action.’ Ever wonder why that guy was elevated to such a position of reverance in the first place?
I certainly hope I’m on to something good here. It’s just been stewing in my head quite a bit lately.
The man of action or warrior is so exciting to watch and get swept up by, but is not known for the depth of perception, simply by the swiftness of action…a stunning showman that often as not leads you off a cliff’s edge, without anyone, including the man of action, knowing it.
Here’s to seeking balance, ruaiamiaini. Here’s to balance.
