Just a little provocative filler till we return…
A Police song written to address the unrest in Northern Ireland back in the early 80’s. It still seems relevent, if not to Ireland, then certainly to other places around the world as it points to that inner sun which must be realized if individuals aim to find inner (and outer) peace in this world.
The Police- Invisible Sun
dont want to spend the rest of my life
Looking at the barrel of an armalite
I dont want to spend the rest of my days
Keeping out of trouble like the soldiers say
I dont want to spend my time in hell
Looking at the walls of a prison cell
I dont ever want to play the part
Of a statistic on a government chartThere has to be an invisible sun
It gives its heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
That gives us hope when the whole days doneIts dark all day, and it glows all night
Factory smoke and acetylene light
I face the day with me head caved in
Looking like something that the cat brought inThere has to be an invisible sun
It gives its heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
That gives us hope when the whole days doneAnd theyre only going to change this place by
Killing everybody in the human race
And they would kill me for a cigarette
But I dont even wanna die just yetThere has to be an invisible sun
It gives its heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
It gives us hope when the whole days done
